How we use the personal data we collect

Comments

When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and browser user agent, are collected to help us detect spam.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to the website, we advise you to avoid uploading images with embedded GPS location data (EXIF). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the site.

Contact forms

The information collected through the contact forms is used exclusively to send your message by email to Armella LEUNG and is not stored on art-mella.com.

Fields marked with an asterisk in the form are mandatory. Otherwise, your message cannot be sent.

Sign-up forms

Sign-up forms let you subscribe to receive our newsletter and/or your gifts by email, along with any future updates to them. You can unsubscribe or change your subscriptions at any time via the links included at the end of the email, or on request by contacting me via my contact form.

The information collected through the sign-up forms is stored on the secure servers of our provider Brevo, a French company committed to confidentiality, which never shares this information with third parties: see Brevo Terms of Service, Appendix 3: Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Brevo’s services allow us to send emails in volumes that would be technically impossible from a simple email inbox.

Fields marked with a red asterisk * in the form are mandatory. Otherwise, your registration cannot be completed and no information will be stored.

You can access your data, correct it, request its deletion, or exercise your right to restrict its processing.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and is deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select « Remember Me », your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to their website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (where applicable), we also store the personal data provided in their profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account, or have left comments on this site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your personal data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
